The Last Day of a Condemned Man
Victor Hugo’s immortal work The Last Day of a Condemned Man is brought to the stage by B-B-S Stage Production!
The play presents the trial and execution process of a condemned prisoner, making the audience question current issues such as justice, criminal law, and capital punishment — all while the public watches executions as if they were entertainment.
Considered the first monologue in modern literature, Hugo also reveals the tragicomic side of the death penalty. As you witness the story of a man sentenced to death, you’ll find it difficult to decide who the real culprit is: the murderer who committed the crime, or the society eagerly watching the execution like a spectacle?
The play is supervised by Elif Esra Yıldız and directed by Onur Yıldız. This time, Can Karaca takes the stage in the powerful role of the condemned man.
